Rani Beauty Clinic Team
Licensed Aesthetic Professionals
Nervousness before an aesthetic treatment is completely normal, and at Rani Beauty Clinic in Renton, WA, we have refined our approach to help anxious patients feel comfortable and confident. Here is how we handle the nerves.
We start by acknowledging the feeling. Nothing erodes trust faster than a provider who dismisses your anxiety with a casual oh, it is nothing or you will be fine. We validate that nervousness is a reasonable response to a new medical experience. Acknowledging your feeling creates space for us to address it specifically.
Education is the best anxiety reducer. Much of the anxiety around aesthetic treatments comes from the unknown. What will it feel like? How long will it take? What are the risks? We answer these questions thoroughly and honestly before any treatment begins. Patients who understand exactly what will happen are significantly less anxious than those operating with imagination and internet horror stories.
We give you control. At any point during your treatment, you can ask us to pause, adjust, or stop. Knowing that you have this control reduces the feeling of vulnerability that contributes to anxiety. Some patients like to take breaks. Others prefer to get through the treatment quickly. We adapt to your preference.
Comfort measures are proactive, not reactive. We do not wait for you to tell us you are uncomfortable. Topical numbing is applied generously before any treatment that involves needles. Ice and cooling devices are used during treatment. We check in regularly on your comfort level. We offer music, conversation, or quiet, whichever helps you feel most at ease.
The first visit sets the tone. For first-time patients, we allow extra time for consultation and go slower during the actual treatment. There is no pressure to complete everything in one visit if you are feeling overwhelmed. Starting with a smaller treatment area or a gentler treatment builds confidence for more comprehensive treatments in the future.
Distraction techniques work surprisingly well. Looking away from the treatment area, listening to music, or engaging in light conversation during the procedure reduces perceived discomfort. Our team is skilled at maintaining a relaxed, conversational atmosphere that takes your focus off the treatment.
We are honest about sensation. We will tell you what each part of the treatment feels like before we do it. You will feel a small pinch here or this part might feel warm. No surprises means less anxiety. When patients know exactly what sensation to expect, they can prepare for it and process it as normal rather than alarming.
Bringing a support person is welcome. If having a friend or partner in the room would make you more comfortable, we welcome that. Some patients find reassurance in having someone familiar present, especially during their first visit.
For patients with significant anxiety, we can discuss additional options during your consultation. In some cases, a mild topical numbing agent or other comfort measures may be appropriate. Dr. Landfield evaluates each situation individually and ensures that your comfort is prioritized.
The post-treatment confidence: Nearly every nervous first-time patient tells us afterward that it was much easier than they expected. Building that experience of positive outcomes creates confidence that makes each subsequent visit easier. Many of our most loyal patients started as our most nervous ones.
