Your journey begins with a one-on-one consultation where our clinician evaluates your skin type, hair color, and treatment goals. We use the Fitzpatrick skin typing scale to determine the optimal wavelength and settings for your unique needs.
Treatment Preparation
The treatment area is cleaned and, if needed, any surface hair is trimmed. Protective eyewear is provided for both you and the clinician. The laser handpiece is calibrated to the ideal wavelength — Alexandrite (755nm) or Nd:YAG (1064nm) — based on your skin assessment.
Laser Delivery with Cooling
The clinician guides the laser handpiece over the treatment area, delivering precise pulses of light energy that target melanin in the hair follicle. The integrated cooling system activates with each pulse, protecting the skin and minimizing discomfort. Most clients describe the sensation as a light snap followed by a cool breeze.
Post-Treatment Care
A soothing aloe-based gel is applied to the treated area. Your clinician reviews aftercare instructions, including sun protection guidelines and what to expect in the coming days. Treated hairs will shed naturally over the following 1–3 weeks.

During
Sessions typically take 15–60 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area. You will wear protective laser eyewear throughout. The clinician moves the handpiece across the skin in a systematic grid pattern. You will feel a brief snap with each pulse, immediately followed by the cooling system. Most clients find the procedure comfortable and even relaxing. Larger areas like the legs or back may take longer, while smaller areas like the upper lip can be completed in under 10 minutes.
After
Mild redness and slight swelling at the treatment site are normal and typically resolve within a few hours. Apply a gentle moisturizer and broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily. Avoid hot showers, saunas, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Treated hairs will appear to grow for 1–3 weeks before shedding — this is normal and a sign the treatment is working. Do not wax or pluck between sessions; shaving is permitted.

Does laser hair removal hurt?+
The GentleMax Pro Plus is designed for comfort. Its integrated Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) sprays a burst of cryogen onto the skin milliseconds before each laser pulse, and the air cooling system provides continuous comfort throughout the treatment. Most clients describe the sensation as a mild snap, similar to a rubber band, immediately followed by a cooling effect. Sensitive areas like the bikini line may feel slightly more intense, but the vast majority of our clients report that the treatment is far more comfortable than waxing.
Can I shave between sessions?+
Yes, shaving between sessions is perfectly fine and actually recommended if needed. Shaving cuts the hair at the surface without disturbing the follicle beneath the skin, so the laser can still target it during your next appointment. However, you should not wax, pluck, thread, or use depilatory creams between sessions, as these methods remove the hair follicle entirely and leave nothing for the laser to target.
