Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) and Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) are both FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A products that work by the same mechanism — temporarily blocking nerve signals to targeted muscles. The key differences are molecular: Dysport has smaller protein molecules that tend to diffuse slightly more, making it well-suited for larger treatment areas like the forehead. Dysport also tends to have a slightly faster onset (3–5 days vs. 5–7 days for Botox). Some clients prefer the feel or longevity of one product over the other.
