ABOUT THIS TREATMENT

What Is Blood Work & Lab Services?

Blood work is the cornerstone of evidence-based wellness. At Rani Beauty Clinic, we offer comprehensive in-house blood draw services so you never need to visit a separate lab or quest for your results through impersonal portals. Our phlebotomy-trained medical staff draws your blood right here in our clinic, and every set of results is reviewed personally by Dr. Alexander Landfield, our board-certified neurologist and Medical Director. Our lab services support every wellness program we offer — from GLP-1 weight management and hormone therapy to peptide protocols and general health optimization. We offer a range of comprehensive panels designed to provide a complete picture of your metabolic, hormonal, and overall health status. Rather than checking just one or two markers, our panels cast a wide net to identify imbalances, deficiencies, and risk factors that might otherwise go undetected. What makes our lab services different from a standard lab draw is the clinical interpretation. At a typical lab, your results are compared against broad reference ranges and flagged only if they fall outside "normal" — which is defined by the general population, not by optimal health. At Rani Beauty Clinic, Dr. Landfield interprets your results within a clinical context, considering your symptoms, goals, age, and individual health history. We look at trends over time, evaluate the relationships between markers, and identify optimization opportunities that standard lab reporting misses. Our goal is not just to confirm you are "within normal limits" but to help you achieve optimal health.
THE PROCESS

How It Works

1

Panel Selection & Scheduling

Our team helps you select the appropriate lab panel based on your health goals, current treatments, and any symptoms you are experiencing. We offer comprehensive wellness panels, hormone panels (male and female), thyroid panels, metabolic panels, lipid panels, and specialized testing. If you are starting a new treatment program (GLP-1, HRT, peptides), the required baseline labs are included as part of your program onboarding. Your appointment is scheduled at a time that accommodates fasting requirements if applicable.

2

In-House Blood Draw

On the day of your appointment, our phlebotomy-trained medical staff draws your blood right here in our clinic. The process takes approximately 5–10 minutes. We use standard venipuncture technique with minimal discomfort. For most comprehensive panels, 2–4 vials of blood are collected. If you are anxious about blood draws, let your clinician know — we have techniques to help make the experience as comfortable as possible.

3

Lab Processing & Analysis

Your blood samples are sent to a CLIA-certified reference laboratory for processing. Results are typically available within 3–7 business days, depending on the specific tests ordered. Once results are received, Dr. Landfield personally reviews every panel, evaluating each marker within the context of your individual health profile, symptoms, and goals.

4

Results Review & Action Plan

You receive a thorough results review — either in person or via a follow-up consultation — where your clinician walks you through each finding, explains what the numbers mean for your health, and discusses any recommended actions. This may include treatment initiation (starting hormones, peptides, or supplements), treatment adjustments (dose changes based on follow-up labs), lifestyle recommendations, or referrals for further evaluation if any concerning findings are identified. You receive a copy of your lab results for your personal records.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

What to Expect

Before

For most comprehensive panels, a 10–12 hour fast is required before your blood draw — this means no food or caloric beverages, though water is encouraged. Schedule your appointment for the morning when possible, as fasting is easier overnight and some hormones (testosterone, cortisol) are best measured in the morning for accuracy. Continue taking your regular medications unless otherwise instructed by your clinician. Stay well-hydrated the day before and the morning of your draw — hydration makes veins easier to access and reduces discomfort. Bring a list of any medications and supplements you are currently taking.

During

The blood draw itself takes approximately 5–10 minutes. You will be seated comfortably, and a tourniquet is applied to the upper arm to make the vein more visible. The phlebotomist cleans the draw site with an alcohol swab and inserts a small needle into the vein. You may feel a brief pinch. Blood is collected into 2–4 vials depending on the panel ordered. After the draw, a cotton ball and bandage are applied. If you feel lightheaded, you are welcome to rest for a few minutes and have a snack or juice — we keep supplies on hand.

After

Resume eating and drinking normally after your blood draw. Keep the bandage on for at least 1–2 hours and avoid heavy lifting with the draw arm for 4 hours to minimize bruising. Results are typically available within 3–7 business days. Our team will contact you to schedule your results review appointment or will communicate findings through your preferred method. If any results require urgent attention, our medical team will contact you promptly. Your lab results become part of your medical record at Rani Beauty Clinic and are used for longitudinal health tracking across all your visits.

RESULTS

Results & Recovery

Blood work itself does not produce health changes — it provides the data that drives informed health decisions. The value of our lab services lies in what we do with the information: identify deficiencies and imbalances, establish baselines for treatment monitoring, track measurable improvements over time, and detect potential health concerns early. Many clients are surprised by what their labs reveal — subclinical thyroid issues, vitamin D deficiency, hormonal imbalances, or metabolic markers trending in an unfavorable direction — that would not have been caught without proactive testing. Over time, regular lab monitoring allows us to demonstrate objective, quantifiable improvements in your health markers, providing tangible evidence that your wellness investments are working. There is no downtime from a blood draw — you may have a small bruise at the draw site for a day or two, but that is the extent of any after-effects.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to fast before blood work?+

For most comprehensive panels — including metabolic panels, lipid panels, and glucose/insulin testing — a 10–12 hour fast is recommended for the most accurate results. This means no food or caloric beverages (black coffee and water are typically acceptable). Fasting ensures that blood sugar and lipid measurements are not influenced by a recent meal. For hormone panels and certain other tests, fasting may not be strictly required but is still generally recommended. Your scheduling coordinator will advise you on fasting requirements when you book your appointment. If you forget to fast or are unable to fast for medical reasons, let your clinician know — some tests can still be drawn in a non-fasting state.

What panels do you offer?+

We offer a comprehensive menu of lab panels including: Comprehensive Wellness Panel (CMP, CBC, lipid panel, thyroid, vitamin D, B12, iron studies, inflammatory markers), Male Hormone Panel (total and free testosterone, estradiol, SHBG, DHEA-S, PSA, thyroid, metabolic markers), Female Hormone Panel (estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA-S, FSH, LH, thyroid, metabolic markers), Thyroid Panel (TSH, free T3, free T4, thyroid antibodies), Metabolic and Pre-Diabetes Panel (fasting glucose, insulin, HbA1c, lipid panel), and specialized testing as needed. We also offer follow-up monitoring panels for clients on GLP-1, HRT, or peptide therapy. Your clinician will recommend the most appropriate panel for your needs.

How long does it take to get results?+

Most lab results are available within 3–7 business days after your blood draw, depending on the specific tests ordered. Standard panels like a CMP and CBC are typically processed within 2–3 business days, while specialized hormone and thyroid testing may take 5–7 days. Once Dr. Landfield has reviewed your results, our team will contact you to schedule your results review. If any results are critically abnormal and require immediate attention, our medical team will contact you as soon as the results are received.

Will Dr. Landfield review my results personally?+

Yes. Every set of lab results drawn at Rani Beauty Clinic is reviewed personally by Dr. Alexander Landfield, our board-certified Medical Director. This is a core commitment of our practice. Dr. Landfield evaluates each marker within the context of your individual health profile, symptoms, and treatment goals — not just against broad population-based reference ranges. His clinical interpretation goes beyond simple flagging of abnormal values to identify subtle patterns, trends, and optimization opportunities that standard lab reporting would miss. During your results review appointment, your clinician will communicate Dr. Landfield's findings and recommendations in clear, accessible language.

Can I get blood work without being in a treatment program?+

Absolutely. While blood work is a core component of our treatment programs (GLP-1, HRT, peptide therapy), we also offer standalone lab services for anyone who wants a comprehensive health assessment. Whether you are curious about your hormone levels, want to check for common deficiencies (vitamin D, B12, iron), or simply want a thorough baseline panel, you are welcome to schedule blood work as an independent service. We believe everyone should have access to detailed, physician-reviewed lab analysis — not just clients in active treatment programs.

How much does blood work cost?+

We offer transparent, competitive lab pricing. The blood draw fee is $25 per visit. Popular panels include: Wellness Screening Panel ($149), GLP-1 Starter Lab Package ($199), HRT Starter Panel ($249), and Comprehensive Hormone Panel ($199). Quarterly monitoring is $99 (GLP-1) or $119 (HRT). Individual tests range from $49 (CBC, A1C, Vitamin B12, Estradiol) to $149 (Comprehensive Thyroid Panel, Female/Male Hormone Panel). Blood work included in treatment programs (GLP-1, HRT, peptide therapy) is incorporated into the program pricing. Visit our pricing page for the full lab menu. Call us at (425) 539-4440 to schedule.
