Proper post-injection care optimizes your results and minimizes side effects. At Rani Beauty Clinic in Renton, WA, we provide every patient with clear aftercare guidance for their GLP-1 therapy.

Immediately After Your Injection

After your IM injection at Rani Beauty Clinic, you can resume all normal activities immediately. Apply gentle pressure to the injection site with the provided cotton or gauze for a moment. A small adhesive bandage may be placed over the site. Mild soreness at the injection site is normal and typically resolves within 24 hours.

The First Few Hours

Stay hydrated by drinking water throughout the rest of the day. Eat your next meal when hungry, keeping it light and protein-focused. Avoid heavy, greasy, or very large meals for the first 24 hours, especially after a dose increase. Resume all normal activities including work, driving, and light exercise.

Exercise After Injection

Light to moderate exercise is fine on injection day. Walking, gentle yoga, and similar activities are all appropriate. Some patients prefer to avoid intense exercise for the first 24 hours after a dose increase, especially if they tend to experience nausea. Listen to your body and adjust accordingly.

Managing Injection Site Reactions

Mild redness, slight swelling, or tenderness at the injection site is normal and resolves quickly. If you notice more significant redness, swelling, or a hard lump that does not resolve within a few days, mention it to your provider at your next appointment.

Rotating injection sites (if applicable to your specific protocol) helps prevent localized reactions and ensures consistent medication absorption.

Monitoring Your Response

After each injection, pay attention to appetite changes, which typically become more pronounced with higher doses. Any GI symptoms like nausea, fullness, or changes in bowel patterns. Energy levels and sleep quality. General well-being and mood.

Record these observations in your tracking journal or phone notes. This information helps your provider make informed decisions about dose adjustments and treatment optimization.

Meal Planning for the Days Following Injection

Having planned meals for the two to three days following your injection reduces the likelihood of making poor food choices when your appetite is most affected. Prepare protein-rich meals and snacks in advance. Having Greek yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, grilled chicken, or protein shakes readily available ensures you are nourishing your body even when appetite is low.

When to Contact Your Provider

Reach out to Rani Beauty Clinic between appointments if you experience severe or persistent nausea or vomiting, inability to keep fluids down for more than 24 hours, severe abdominal pain, signs of allergic reaction (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing), symptoms of low blood sugar (shakiness, confusion, excessive sweating) especially if you take other diabetes medications, or any symptom that feels concerning or unusual.

Building Your Post-Injection Routine

Over time, your post-injection routine will become automatic. You will know which foods agree with you, how your body responds to each dose, and what self-care practices support your best experience. This routine is part of the habit-building process that sustains your results long-term.

At Rani Beauty Clinic in Renton, we are always available to answer questions about your post-injection care and help you refine your routine as your treatment progresses.
