First Timer Guide

What you wear to your medspa appointment might seem like a minor detail, but the right clothing choices can make your experience significantly more comfortable. At Rani Beauty Clinic in Renton, WA, we want you to feel relaxed from the moment you walk in, and that starts with practical wardrobe decisions.

For facial treatments including HydraFacials, chemical peels, and LED therapy, wear a top with a wide or low neckline. Crew neck sweaters and turtlenecks can interfere with treatment of the jawline and neck area, and pulling a tight top over your face after treatment can irritate freshly treated skin. Button-down shirts, zip-up hoodies, and V-neck tops are ideal choices.

For injectable treatments like Botox and dermal fillers, comfort is key. You will be seated or reclined during the procedure, so clothing that allows you to relax without restriction is best. Avoid tops that are tight around the neck or that you will need to pull over your head afterward. If you are having lip filler, skip the lipstick - you will want clean lips for the procedure, and applying makeup over fresh injection sites is not recommended.

For laser treatments including laser hair removal, PicoWay, and other laser-based procedures, you may need to expose the treatment area. Wear loose clothing that is easy to adjust or remove from the specific area being treated. For leg treatments, loose pants or a skirt works well. For underarm treatments, a tank top or loose short-sleeved shirt is ideal. Dark clothing is a practical choice as some topical products used during laser procedures can transfer to fabric.

For body treatments and RF microneedling on the body, you may be asked to change into a gown for the procedure. Wearing easy-on, easy-off clothing makes this transition smooth. Skip complicated outfits with multiple layers or difficult closures.

General tips that apply to all appointments: Leave expensive jewelry at home, especially pieces near the treatment area. Remove facial piercings if you are having facial treatments. Skip heavy makeup if you are having a facial procedure since it will need to be removed before treatment anyway. Wear comfortable shoes since you want your entire experience to feel relaxed.

After certain treatments, your skin may be slightly red or sensitive. Having a hat and sunglasses available for your walk to the car is smart, especially after laser treatments or chemical peels. Sunscreen is essential after most treatments, and we will apply it for you before you leave, but a hat adds an extra layer of protection.

We provide everything you need during your treatment, including gowns, headbands, and protective eyewear as needed. But arriving in comfortable, practical clothing sets the tone for a stress-free experience.
