Red Light Therapy
Harness the power of light to heal, rejuvenate, and energize at the cellular level. Our medical-grade, full-body red and near-infrared light panels deliver targeted wavelengths that stimulate ATP production in your cells — reducing inflammation, accelerating recovery, and promoting radiant, youthful skin from the inside out.
What Is Red Light Therapy?
How It Works
Consultation & Goal Setting
During your initial visit, your clinician discusses your goals for red light therapy — whether that is skin rejuvenation, pain relief, muscle recovery, inflammation reduction, or general wellness. Based on your goals, a treatment protocol is recommended including session frequency and duration.
Session Preparation
You will be provided a private treatment room and protective eye goggles. For full-body treatment, you may undress to your comfort level — the more skin exposed to the light, the greater the therapeutic benefit. No creams, lotions, or sunscreen should be applied before the session, as these can block or scatter the light wavelengths. Clean, bare skin allows optimal light absorption.
Light Exposure
You stand or sit in front of the full-body panel array, which emits a combination of red (630–660nm) and near-infrared (810–850nm) wavelengths at a therapeutic irradiance level. The session typically lasts 15–20 minutes. The light feels warm and pleasant — there is no UV radiation, no tanning, and no burning. You can relax during the session, as the treatment is completely passive and comfortable.
Post-Session
After your session, you can dress and return to all normal activities immediately. There is no downtime, no side effects, and no recovery needed. Hydrate well after your session to support cellular function. Consistent, regular sessions are key to achieving and maintaining optimal results.

- Individuals with chronic pain, joint stiffness, or inflammatory conditions
- Those with acne, rosacea, or inflammatory skin conditions

What to Expect
Before
No special preparation is required. Remove makeup and skincare products from the areas you want to treat, as clean, bare skin allows optimal light absorption. Do not apply sunscreen before the session. Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to remove. Stay hydrated before your session. Photosensitizing medications (such as certain antibiotics or retinoids) may increase light sensitivity — discuss any medications with your clinician during your consultation.
During
Sessions last 15–20 minutes in front of our full-body panels. You will wear protective eye goggles throughout the session. The light produces a gentle warmth that most clients find relaxing and pleasant. There is no UV exposure, no pain, and no burning sensation. You will simply stand or sit comfortably while the panels emit therapeutic wavelengths. Many clients use the time to meditate or simply relax. The treatment is entirely passive — you do not need to do anything except be present.
After
There are no side effects and no downtime. You can immediately return to all normal activities including exercise, work, and social engagements. Some clients report a temporary feeling of increased energy or mild warmth in the treated areas. Stay well-hydrated to support the cellular processes activated by the treatment. For optimal results, we recommend a consistent treatment schedule — typically 3–5 sessions per week during an initial phase, then 2–3 sessions per week for maintenance.
Results & Recovery
Red light therapy results are cumulative and build over time with consistent use. Some clients notice improvements in skin tone, reduced inflammation, or increased energy within the first few sessions. More significant benefits — such as visible collagen improvement, reduced fine lines, decreased pain, and enhanced muscle recovery — typically become apparent after 4–8 weeks of regular treatment (3–5 sessions per week). Clinical studies demonstrate measurable increases in skin collagen density, reduction in wrinkle depth, faster wound healing, and decreased pain scores with consistent photobiomodulation therapy. There is absolutely no downtime or recovery — red light therapy is one of the gentlest and most accessible wellness treatments available.
Why Rani for Red Light Therapy
Rani Beauty Clinic uses professional-grade, full-body red light therapy panels that deliver clinically validated wavelengths (630–660nm red and 810–850nm near-infrared) at therapeutic irradiance levels. Unlike consumer-grade devices and handheld wands, our panels provide sufficient power density and full-body coverage to deliver meaningful clinical results. Under the supervision of Dr. Alexander Landfield, our board-certified Medical Director, we integrate red light therapy into comprehensive treatment plans that complement your aesthetic and wellness goals. Our team can guide you on how to combine red light therapy with other treatments — such as RF microneedling, peptide therapy, or NAD+ injections — for synergistic benefits.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is red light therapy the same as a tanning bed?+
No, red light therapy is completely different from tanning. Tanning beds emit ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which damages DNA, accelerates skin aging, and increases skin cancer risk. Red light therapy uses visible red (630–660nm) and near-infrared (810–850nm) wavelengths that contain no UV radiation whatsoever. Red light therapy does not tan the skin, does not cause sunburn, and does not carry any of the risks associated with UV exposure. In fact, red light therapy has been shown to help repair UV-damaged skin by stimulating collagen production and reducing oxidative stress.
How often should I do red light therapy?+
For optimal results, we recommend 3–5 sessions per week during the initial treatment phase (typically the first 4–8 weeks), then 2–3 sessions per week for ongoing maintenance. Each session lasts 15–20 minutes. Consistency is far more important than session length — regular shorter sessions produce better results than infrequent longer sessions. Your clinician will recommend a specific protocol based on your goals, whether that is skin rejuvenation, pain management, muscle recovery, or general wellness.
Is red light therapy safe?+
Yes, red light therapy has an excellent safety profile and has been extensively studied in peer-reviewed clinical research. It is FDA-cleared for certain indications and is widely used in dermatology, sports medicine, and pain management. There are no known serious side effects when used as directed. The treatment is non-invasive, non-thermal (at therapeutic doses), and does not cause tissue damage. However, individuals taking photosensitizing medications should consult with their healthcare provider, and proper eye protection should always be worn during treatment, which we provide at every session.
What does red light therapy feel like?+
Red light therapy feels warm and pleasant — similar to the gentle warmth of sunlight on your skin, but without any UV rays. Most clients find the experience deeply relaxing. There is no pain, stinging, burning, or discomfort of any kind. The near-infrared wavelengths penetrate deeper into the tissue and may produce a subtle, soothing warmth that clients often describe as therapeutic. Many of our clients look forward to their RLT sessions as a calming, meditative part of their wellness routine.
Can red light therapy help with pain?+
Yes, numerous clinical studies have demonstrated the analgesic (pain-reducing) and anti-inflammatory effects of photobiomodulation. Red and near-infrared light therapy has been shown to reduce pain associated with arthritis, joint stiffness, muscle soreness (DOMS), tendinitis, neuropathy, and post-surgical recovery. The mechanism involves reducing inflammatory cytokines, increasing blood flow, and stimulating cellular repair at the site of injury or inflammation. While results vary by individual and condition, many of our clients report meaningful pain relief with regular red light therapy sessions.
How much does red light therapy cost?+
Red Light Therapy is available as a $49 add-on to any HydraFacial or facial treatment. It is also included as part of our Glow Up 3-Pack ($699, which includes 3 Signature HydraFacials + 3 LED sessions). Angel Glow Up members receive discounted pricing on all add-on services.
