Pre & Post Care

What you do in the hours and days after Botox treatment directly influences your results. At Rani Beauty Clinic in Renton, WA, we provide detailed aftercare to ensure every unit of Botox produces its maximum benefit.

Immediately after treatment, stay upright for at least four hours. Lying flat can allow the product to migrate from the intended treatment area before it binds to the targeted nerve endings. This is one of the most important aftercare instructions and the one most commonly neglected.

Do not touch, rub, or massage the treated areas for twenty-four hours. Pressure on the injection sites can push Botox away from the intended muscles and into adjacent areas, potentially causing unintended effects like brow or lid heaviness. Resist the temptation to feel the injection sites.

Avoid strenuous exercise for twenty-four hours. Intense physical activity increases blood flow and body temperature, which can affect product distribution and increase bruising. Light walking is fine, but defer running, weight training, yoga inversions, and similar activities until the next day.

Skip alcohol for twenty-four hours after treatment. Alcohol dilates blood vessels, increasing bruising risk and potentially affecting how the product settles. If you are attending a social event, consider scheduling your treatment for the following day.

Avoid heat exposure for twenty-four to forty-eight hours. Saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, hot showers directly on the face, and hot yoga increase blood vessel dilation and can affect Botox distribution. Normal temperature activities are fine.

Do not schedule other facial treatments for at least two weeks. Facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, and laser treatments in the treated area should be deferred. These treatments involve pressure, manipulation, and heat that can affect Botox results. Plan your facial treatments around your Botox schedule.

You may gently exercise the treated muscles during the first few hours after injection. Frowning, raising your eyebrows, and squinting helps the Botox bind to the targeted nerve receptors. This gentle facial exercise may accelerate onset, though results will develop whether you do this or not.

Mild side effects are normal and temporary. Tiny bumps at injection sites resolve within thirty minutes to a few hours. Mild redness resolves within hours. Slight headache may occur and responds to acetaminophen, which is safe after Botox unlike ibuprofen. Mild tenderness at injection sites resolves within a day.

Results timeline: You may notice subtle effects beginning at three to five days. The product reaches full effect at ten to fourteen days. If any areas appear undertreated at the two-week mark, contact Rani Beauty Clinic for a complimentary assessment. Touch-up injections can address areas that need additional treatment.

Return to normal activities: Most patients return to work and social activities immediately after Botox. The injection sites are barely visible and any redness resolves within hours. Some patients prefer to schedule treatment at the end of the day so any temporary marks are gone by morning.

Long-term aftercare includes maintaining consistent treatment appointments every three to four months to prevent lines from returning to full depth. Patients who maintain consistent schedules often find their results last progressively longer over time.

Follow your Botox aftercare instructions from Rani Beauty Clinic.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common Questions

Avoid lying flat for four hours after treatment. After four hours, try to sleep on your back for the first night if possible. By the next morning, the Botox has bound to nerve receptors and sleeping position no longer affects results.

Wait twenty-four hours before strenuous exercise including running, weight training, and hot yoga. Light walking is fine immediately. This waiting period allows the Botox to bind properly without the increased blood flow and body temperature that intense exercise creates.

One brief, accidental touch is unlikely to cause problems. The concern is about sustained pressure or massage that could redistribute the product. If you accidentally touched the area, do not panic. Simply avoid further rubbing and the product will likely settle properly.
