Licensed Aesthetic Professionals
Chemical peels have been used in aesthetic medicine for decades, and for good reason: they produce real, visible improvement in skin texture, tone, and clarity. At Rani Beauty Clinic in Renton, WA, we offer professional-grade peels including the VI Peel and PRX-T33, each providing a different experience tailored to specific skin concerns.
Your first chemical peel appointment begins with a skin assessment and consultation. Your provider will evaluate your skin type, current condition, and concerns to select the appropriate peel strength and formulation. Not all peels are equal. Superficial peels address surface concerns with minimal downtime, while medium-depth peels target deeper issues with more significant peeling.
For a VI Peel, which is one of our most popular options for first-time peel patients, the application process is straightforward. Your skin is cleansed thoroughly, and the peel solution is applied in layers. During application, you will feel a warming or tingling sensation that gradually intensifies. Some areas may feel more intense than others. This sensation is temporary and typically lasts only during the application and neutralization process.
The VI Peel is a self-neutralizing peel, which means it does not need to be washed off immediately. You will leave the clinic with the peel solution on your skin and wash it off at home after a specified period, typically four to six hours. Your provider will give you detailed instructions and a post-peel kit with everything you need.
The PRX-T33 experience is different. This biorevitalization peel is applied and massaged into the skin in the office, producing an immediate brightening effect without the traditional peeling process. Many patients love PRX-T33 as a first peel because it delivers results with minimal visible peeling.
For traditional peels like the VI Peel, the peeling process begins two to three days after application. This is the part that surprises most first-timers. The peeling is not dramatic flaking like a sunburn. It is more of a gradual shedding that can range from light flaking to more noticeable peeling depending on the peel depth and your skin.
During the peeling phase, which typically lasts four to seven days, it is critical that you do not pick, pull, or peel the skin manually. Letting the skin shed naturally prevents scarring and hyperpigmentation. This requires patience, especially when you can see loose skin that you want to remove. Trust the process.
Skincare during and after peeling is simplified. Your provider will give you a specific routine to follow, typically involving gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen only. Active ingredients like retinol and acids are avoided until your skin has fully healed, usually 10 to 14 days post-peel.
The results of your first chemical peel become apparent once the peeling is complete. Fresh, new skin reveals improved tone, reduced discoloration, smaller-looking pores, and a smoother texture. Many patients describe the post-peel result as their skin looking years younger.
Chemical peels can be repeated on a schedule recommended by your provider, typically every four to six weeks for superficial peels and every three to six months for medium-depth peels. Many patients incorporate regular peels into their ongoing skincare maintenance at Rani Beauty Clinic.
