Microneedling with Arrissence — Dark Undereyes

Dark circles have three primary causes: vascular (visible blood vessels showing through thin skin), pigmentary (melanin deposits in the undereye skin), and structural (skin thinning and hollowness that creates shadow). Expect mild to moderate bruising in 30 to 50% of sessions, typically resolving within 3 to 5 days. Swelling and redness for 24 to 48 hours is standard and expected. Most clients return to work the next day and apply light concealer after 24 hours. We recommend scheduling your first session at least 7 to 10 days before any significant social event to allow bruising to fully clear. Arnica supplements and cold compresses can help accelerate bruise resolution.

A series of 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is the recommended protocol for optimal cumulative results. Each session builds on the last as the collagen remodeling response compounds over time. You will begin to see visible improvement 4 to 6 weeks after each session, with full results per session at 3 months. After completing a series of 3, most clients maintain results with 1 to 2 sessions per year. Your clinician will assess your progress at each appointment and confirm whether additional sessions are indicated.

Undereye filler (typically hyaluronic acid) adds volume to hollow tear troughs and can provide an immediate improvement in shadowing — it does not change the quality or thickness of the undereye skin itself. Microneedling with Arrissence does the opposite: it rebuilds the skin's own collagen and dermal structure over time, making it a regenerative and increasingly durable solution. Many clients use both in combination — filler to restore volume and microneedling with Arrissence to improve the skin quality overlying it.
